Cosmetic techniques have come a long way, especially the minimally invasive ones. A thread lift uses dissolvable sutures, placed under the skin, to produce a subtle but visible lift, gently repositioning skin that has started to sag.

What to expect

A thread lift takes about 45 minutes, smooth threads more like 10 to 15, and both are typically done under local anesthesia, so most women feel little during the procedure. Because it can be done under local rather than general anesthesia, you can drive yourself home and care for yourself right after.
You will see lift right away with lifting threads, and because it is minimally invasive, most women resume normal activities quickly. Afterward, you may notice some mild swelling, tenderness, or slight bruising in the treated areas, which usually settles over a few days.
