A breast reduction, also called reduction mammoplasty, removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin to bring your breasts down to a size that is more in proportion with the rest of your body. As part of the same surgery, your surgeon usually lifts and reshapes the breasts too, and repositions the nipple and areola to match the new shape.
