Dr. Gonzalez never imagined his short video he posted from his home this past weekend would of had such a great response. Here he is following up to that prescription he gave everyone. There are so many stressful situations in our life right now but we shouldn't allow these stresses to consume our daily life. According to Dr. Gonzalez we should try to control the things we can and not harp on the things we have no control over. In this video he goes over a few things he has done in his daily routine to combat the stresses. Everyone can do a few of these things in order to help stay mentally strong during these times.
- Limit the amount of exposure we get to the news. We have all been guilty of watching the news incessantly over the last few days and weeks. We have checked in every update to see how many people have been infected and fallen victim to the incessant doom and gloom coverage. By now we all know what is going on and what we need to do to be safe from this issue. Dr. Gonzalez limits himself to checking in with the news every day or every other day. We can all cut back on the amount of time we mentally spend concentrating on the incessant news cycle. A quick tip is to tune into local channels like KATC and KLFY for your news coverage so that you are getting the news in pre-programmed slots and not a 24 hour loop
- Improve Yourself! If you find yourself at home more often these days. Don't just sit on the couch and fret over everything. Get out there and maybe accomplish things you've been meaning to get done. These can be tasks around the house or maybe reading that book you've been meaning to sit down and read. You can also take the time to learn something new or improve your skills so when we get out of this, which we will, you will come out a better person than you were. Keeping yourself preoccupied is very important during these days.
- Social Distancing Is Not Social Elimination We aren't children in time out during these days where we are being asked to stay at home. Isolation and loneliness are big stress promoters that have solutions, especially with all the technology we have at our fingertips nowadays. Sit outside and Facetime some family and friends who you've been meaning to call. Reach out to others who you've been thinking about and reconnect.
- Avoid The Covid-19 pounds Now is not the time to let yourself go. We've conducted so many cosmetic virtual appointments with people who are taking this time to improve themselves but there are also some of us who will give into the temptations. With boredom and depressions our bodies are going to be looking for those endorphins we get from eating those high carb high calorie options. This isn't the time to pick up some unhealthy habits which can cause us more problems down the road! If you're looking to take this opportunity to get into shape, I encourage you to set up a virtual appointment at Healthy Solutions Clinic and take this opportunity to get started on a new healthier YOU.
Many of the patients we have worked with these past couple days are suffering from bigger issues like depression and anxiety over everything that has been going on. Fill out the quick contact form above and we will reach out to you to go over what options and medications may be available to get you through these tough times
